Special Baby Unit
We are so excited to announce that our special baby unit is complete. This is already having a lifechanging impact on the community around the hospital.
Thank you so much for your kindness and generosity, we could not have done this without you!

Phase 2
Phase 2 involves the construction of a new operating theatre to cater to the growing needs of DMH. The operations we provide at DMH are unique in our area and life changing for the children and patients involved. At the moment there is huge demand for our one main operating theatre. This poses a significant problem for maternity services, if a mother arrives and requires emergancy theatre treatment while another surgery is being conducted then the hospital either has to refer the patient or manage the patient in the eye theatre which may not be fully ready for what is needed.
A specially designed theatre block will mean that we have 3 theatre rooms and 2 recovery areas, allowing us always to have a theatre available in case an emergency maternity case arrives. Phase 2 is just the construction of a new theatre block Phase 3 of the project will include the equipment involved, we will provide more details on this in the near future.
